Helen’s strengths are in complex legal analysis, brief writing, and persuasive oral argument to various courts, including: the Oregon Supreme Court; the Washington Supreme Court; and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. She has practiced civil appellate law in Oregon for 35 years.
Her clients appreciate Helen’s compassionate listening coupled with her high-level legal analysis. Helen is widely recognized as an expert in civil appeals in the Oregon Court of Appeals and Oregon Supreme Court. She is often consulted by other appellate attorneys for her experience with the appellate courts.
Helen is a native of Wisconsin and a proud Cheesehead (i.e. Green Bay Packer shareholder). She graduated cum laude from the University of Wisconsin at Eau Claire with a degree in Psychology. Throughout her college years, she worked full time and attended school full time.
After successful careers in hospital administration and utility management, she attended Lewis & Clark Law School in Portland. She graduated in the top 10% of her class in 1987 and passed the Oregon and Washington bar exams. Following graduation, she clerked at the Oregon Supreme Court and began her practice in civil litigation and appeals.
